Datacentre Move
Our upstream colocation provider recently informed us that they will not be offering services at the London Hosting Centre (LHC) beyond March 2012. They currently operate multiple datacentre facilities, and recently undertook a comprehensive review of their operation. As they do not own the LHC, and have only limited or no control over certain aspects of building management, our upstream provider is concerned that looking to the future it may be difficult to maintain 100% uptime SLA's at this particular location.
As we have no desire to change upstream provider we have decided to relocate to Centro, our upstream provider's own facility in Hemel Hempstead. This facility is based within a dedicated 50,000 sq ft secure compound, and has a specification exceeding that of LHC with 100% uptime SLA's, enhanced security and a more robust network, with options for connectivity to Europe and the USA bypassing London (where issues can crop up).
The physical move is scheduled to take place after 10pm Saturday 26th november 2011, and if all goes well should be completed by 6.0am Sunday 27th November 2011.
During this scheduled maintenance slot web sites hosted on Buckley will inevitably be unavailable, but all emails will be queued, and delivered when the hosting servers are powered back online.
Post move, all domains, email accounts, settings, server names, IP addresses, etc will remain the same.
Further updates regarding the datacentre move will be posted in our support forums at http://www.cymnet-support.co.uk/forum as the work progresses. Our forums are hosted on a server in a different datacentre in the USA, so will remain available during the move.
