Network Switch Maintenance - Buckley (Completed)

During the core network upgrade on Tuesday 19th August, we identified some unanticipated problems with the link aggregation between the two switches that provide network connectivity this server. We would like to iterate that this problem has not been service affecting.

We have therefore scheduled the implementation of a fix for this issue during the following maintenance window:
Tuesday 16th September, 2014 from 1:00am - 3:00am BST

During this period, loss of network connectivity is likely to happen whilst we reconfigure the switches in this rack. This is necessary to restore the maximum throughput these switches can achieve to its full capacity. The downtime is estimated to be around around 10 - 20 minutes in total during this period.

This maintenance is being performed in a way that if any issues occur, or the allotted time frame is exceeded, we can roll back the configuration and restore service within a couple of minutes.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, however this maintenance is essential to restore full service.

Core Network Upgrade (Completed)

The upgrade is taking longer than expected, however, the majority of the work has been completed. We will update this announcement once the last of the work has been finished.

Update 1
Unfortunately we are still experiencing some issues with the last leg of the maintenance, which is causing it to take longer than expected. Our engineers are continuing to work on this issue, and hope to have it completed soon.

Update 2
This maintenance window is now closed.

Update 3
During the maintenance window we encountered some issues that were not anticipated during testing which unfortunately in some cases extended the estimated downtime to up to two hours overnight.

Core Network Upgrade (Completed)

As part of on-going network expansion plans, the core network at the facility where your service is hosted is being upgraded with new, more powerful hardware. This hardware is already in place and the network team have been extensively testing configurations over the past few weeks alongside the existing infrastructure.

This new hardware will increase capacity on the network and implement several additional layers to both prevent and more easily mitigate any incoming attacks on the network.

This major upgrade to the core network has been scheduled to take place during the following maintenance window:

START: Monday 18th August, 2014 @ 22:00 BST END : Tuesday 19th August, 2014 @ 02:00 BST

During this time, there may be periods where network connectivity is impacted. This cannot be avoided unfortunately, however we have scheduled the above maintenance out of business hours to cause as little impact to service as possible.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this essential work.
