PHP Upgrade (Completed)
The primary installation of PHP installed on all our servers has now been upgrade to version 5.5 or 5.6. For the time being it is still possible to force a directory or an entire website to use PHP 5.4 as this remains available as a secondary installation.
But as version 5.4 reached end-of-life (EOL) status over 6 months ago, this can only be considered a short term fix for script incompatibilities with version 5.5.
At some stage in the not too distant future, Version 5.4 will be removed from our servers, and possibly at very short notice if a major security flaw is discovered in that version. Clients are therefore advised to update and test any incompatible scripts now whilst both version of PHP are still available, rather than get caught out at some future date.

Scheduled Php Upgrade (Completed)
We will be commencing PHP upgrades across all servers on the 1st May 2016.
The primary version of PHP installed on our servers is currently 5.4. Unfortunately this version reached end-of-life (EOL) status 6 months ago, and hasn't received any updates since then. In order to safeguard the security and performance of our servers, we must move to a better supported version of PHP.
On the 1st of May 2016 we will therefore be upgrading the primary PHP version to 5.5 or 5.6.
There are very few incompatibilities between 5.5 and 5.6 compared to 5.4, but some older scripts running under 5.4 may not be fully compatible with 5.5 or 5.6. Full details of the issues you may encounter are available on the php.net website - Migrating to PHP 5.5 and Migrating to PHP 5.6.
If you wish to test scripts ahead of the changeover, PHP 5.5 is currently available as a secondary install and can be selected on a directory by directory basis by logging into cPanel and clicking on the PHP Version manager icon.
